Kevin Durant Nikola Jokic Team Serbia Team USA

WATCH: Nikola Jokic and Serbia were in absolute shambles at halftime against Team USA, searching for answers on how to stop Kevin Durant

At some point, you just have to sit back and accept your fate, and for Team Serbia, Kevin Durant delivered that message loud and clear about five minutes into their first game against Team USA during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

At halftime when it was painfully obviously that Team Serbia had zero clue how to stop Kevin Durant. KD came out and straight-up cooked Team Serbia to a crisp, hitting his first eight shots and dropping 21 points before Jokic and company even knew what hit them.

Meanwhile, Team Serbia’s locker room was in absolute shambles at the half, and the video evidence proves it. Look, I get that basketball is a team game and that everyone has a role, but why in the world is Serbia having a discussion about guarding Bam Adebayo when Kevin Durant is actively setting the building on fire?

Nikola Jokić Was Practically Begging His Teammates to Wake Up

Nikola Jokić—who is usually as unbothered as they come—was out there trying to explain to his teammates that maybe, just maybe, they should stop worrying about Bam and start worrying about the guy who literally could not miss in the first half.

At one point, Jokić is literally looking around like, “Are you guys serious right now?”

Kevin Durant vs. Reality

The funny part about all this is that Serbia acted like they were discovering Durant’s talent for the first time. Like, did they not watch him torch entire teams for the last 15 years? Did they think he was just going to pass the ball and let someone else have their moment?

Kevin Durant is one of the most ruthless scorers in the history of the game, and when he gets in that mode, it’s over before it even starts. Serbia had no counter, no plan, and absolutely no idea what to do about it.

Captain America: Kevin Durant

It’s one thing to get beat by a better team. It’s another to get completely broken mentally by one player. Serbia never stood a chance, and their panicked, confused locker room meltdown was all the proof that the world of basketball needed.
