Phillies MLB Network Top 100 List

MLB Network disrespects the Phillies yet again in 2025 ranking of the league’s Top 100 players right now

The Philadelphia Phillies are one of the best teams in baseball, stacked with stars, and yet MLB Network’s Top 100 rankings for 2025 somehow managed to undersell them. Again.

5 Phillies land on MLB Network’s Top 100 Right Now List:

Let’s start with the obvious: no Phillies in the top 10. Not even Bryce Harper. Instead, Harper lands at No. 12, while Zack Wheeler slots in at No. 19.

Look, we get it—there’s a lot of talent in MLB but having Harp outside of the Top 10 is laughable at best.

Bryce Harper is a two-time MVP, an elite hitter, and a future Hall of Famer who just finished another stellar season with an NL All-Star selection, a Silver Slugger, and a sixth-place MVP finish. Yet, he can’t crack the top 10? Sure…I guess.

Then there’s Wheeler, who was the NL Cy Young runner-up to Chris Sale, led the league in WHIP, and was just ranked the No. 1 starting pitcher by MLB Network’s own system, “The Shredder.”

On this list, Zack Wheeler is somehow the third-best pitcher, behind Tarik Skubal and Paul Skenes. Skubal had a great season. Skenes, as talented as he is, has made just 16 MLB starts.

Wheeler, meanwhile, has been dominant for years.

Trea Turner at No. 35 feels low considering he’s been one of the game’s best all-around shortstops for a decade.

Kyle Schwarber at No. 65 seems laughable when you realize the guy has averaged 44 homers, 101 RBI, and 106 runs per season since joining the Phillies. Sure, he hits .200, but if this is about offensive impact, he’s still one of the most dangerous bats in the league.

JT Realmuto checking in at No. 80? Fine. His offensive numbers have dipped, though he’s still one of the best defensive catchers in the game.

No Nick Castellanos. No Alec Bohm. You could easily make a case for both of them to crack the top 100, right?

The biggest snub, though, is Aaron Nola—who somehow was also completely left off the list.

Nola finished 11th in Cy Young voting, posted a 3.57 ERA over nearly 200 innings, and has been one of the most durable and reliable arms in baseball for a decade. But somehow, he’s not Top 100? That’s wild.

At the end of the day, rankings don’t win games—talent does. And the Phillies have plenty of it. But if they needed extra motivation heading into 2025, MLB Network just handed it to them on a silver platter.
