PFF ranks Jalen Hurts as 91st best player in the NFL, puts seven QBs ahead of him
We have arrived at the point of Jalen Hurts’ career where we ask ourselves ‘What more does he have to do?’
Hurts put together a masterful performance in Super Bowl LIX where he completed 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards, two touchdowns, and added 72 yards rushing, a Super Bowl record.
His stellar play led to the Eagles capturing their second championship in seven years while stopping the Chiefs from achieving a historic three-peat.
That should be enough to gain some respect, yes? Not exactly.
Pro Football Focus released their top 101 players of the 2024 NFL season and have Jalen Hurts ranked at No. 91.
91. QB Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Hurts may have finished the regular season as just the NFL’s 21st-highest-graded quarterback, but he would not be denied in the playoffs, making his inclusion on this list a must.
During the Eagles’ run to becoming Super Bowl 59 champs, the dynamic signal-caller clocked an 87.2 PFF overall grade — second to only Lamar Jackson — highlighted by his postseason-leading 93.8 clean pocket passing grade.
Here is where all the quarterbacks are ranked:
- Lamar Jackson — 1st
- Joe Burrow — 4th
- Josh Allen — 6th
- Jayden Daniels — 20th
- Justin Herbert — 33rd
- Patrick Mahomes — 39th
- Baker Mayfield — 63rd
- Jalen Hurts — 91st
Having Hurts ranked in the 90s is wild work, regardless of how inconsistent the offense looked throughout the year.
He delivers on the biggest stages and, most importantly, wins games when they matter most.
You can’t say the same for Justin Herbert (who has never won a playoff game), Josh Allen, or Lamar Jackson.
Luckily only one trophy that matters, and the Eagles took it home on February 9th.
