Flyers flip Andrei Kuzmenko to Kings After Brief Stint in Philly
Andrei Kuzmenko’s time with the Flyers? Short and forgettable.
After playing just seven games in Philadelphia, the Flyers traded Kuzmenko to the Kings ahead of Friday’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, along with a 2025 seventh-round pick. In return, Philly picked up a 2027 third-rounder while retaining half of Kuzmenko’s remaining salary.

That $2.75 million hit won’t be an issue—it disappears this summer.
The move wasn’t exactly a shock. The Flyers acquired Kuzmenko in late January as part of the deal that sent Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost to the Flames, but the writing was on the wall that this was a short-term experiment. Philly wanted cap flexibility, and with Kuzmenko on an expiring contract, flipping him at the deadline was always on the table.
Andrei Kuzmenko: A Flash of Offense, But No Long-Term Fit
Kuzmenko showed flashes of what makes him intriguing, putting up two goals and three assists in his seven games with the Flyers.Inconsistency is what’s kept Kuzmenko bouncing around the league. The Kings will now be his fourth team in two seasons after stints with the Canucks, Flames, and Flyers.
Kuzmenko’s best year came in 2022-23, when he put up 39 goals and 74 points in Vancouver. But he hasn’t found that level since, and now L.A. will take its turn trying to unlock his potential.
As for the Flyers? They continue to reshape the roster under Danny Brière, adding another future asset while keeping their cap situation in check.
