Isaiah Rodgers cashes in with Minnesota Vikings on 2-Year, $15M deal

Isaiah Rodgers’ time in Philadelphia didn’t last long, but he still managed to turn it into a payday. The former Eagles cornerback has agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings, which includes $8 million fully guaranteed, per reports.

Rodgers, who was reinstated by the NFL after serving a year-long suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy, was picked up by the Eagles and played well post-suspension as a backup in the secondary last season, racking up 17 solo tackles and 9 assists in 15 games in 2024.

I’m sure the Eagles would have loved to have him back next year but as we’re seeing all over the board today, NFL teams are paying Philadelphia’s role players big money to join their rosters so there’s no bad blood on cashing in on it after a Super Bowl winning season.

Thanks for everything, Isaiah Rodgers

That being said, Isaiah Rodgers is heading to Minnesota for what should be a significant role in Brian Flores’ defense. He’s also a dangerous return man, something the Vikings could take advantage of if they want to maximize his impact.

Rodgers’ market simply outpriced what the Eagles were willing to pay. The Eagles are focusing on youth in the secondary, which made Rodgers more of a luxury than a necessity.
