Sean Brady chokes out Leon Edwards in London, drops a Go Birds like a true Philly legend
Saturday night in London, Sean Brady put the UFC welterweight division on notice — and did it with the kind of Philly grit that makes you want to run through a brick wall and body slam a cheesesteak.
You can take the kid out of Northeast Philly, but you can’t take the Go Birds out of the kid.
Brady didn’t just beat Leon Edwards. He bullied him. The same Leon Edwards who knocked out Kamaru Usman with a head kick of the decade? Sean Brady turned him into a wrestling dummy and then choked him out cold in the fourth round.
The guillotine was so tight, it probably made folks in the first row check their own airways.
And right after becoming the first man to ever finish Leon Edwards in 28 pro fights, Brady stepped to the mic and hit the crowd with a “Go Birds.”
Sean Brady: Go Birds

Sean Brady came in as the underdog and left looking like a title contender. This was as dominant a performance as we’ve ever seen from him:
- Round 1: Tags Edwards with a slick combo on the feet. Yes, Sean Brady — the grappler — is out here trading hands with a world champ.
- Rounds 2 & 3: Take him down. Rinse. Repeat. Edwards had no answers. None.
- Round 4: Lights out. Wraps up a guillotine and squeezes like it owed him money. Edwards taps. The crowd gasps. Brady smirks.
This was as clean a dismantling as you’ll see in a UFC co-main event.

What’s Next for Sean Brady?
He’s now 18-1, riding a three-fight win streak since his lone loss to current champ Belal Muhammad. Unfortunately, the top of the welterweight division is jammed right now.
- Belal Muhammad defends the belt against Jack Della Maddalena in May.
- Shavkat Rakhmonov is likely next for the winner.
- That leaves Brady stuck in line — unless someone makes room.
But if UFC matchmakers are smart (and sometimes they are), there’s a massive opportunity staring them in the face: bring the UFC back to Philly and let Sean Brady headline at the Wells Fargo Center. First time since 2018. Do it right. Make it violent. Let Philly show out for its guy.

"I think I did a lot better than Belal… I made Leon quit in front of his hometown."
“If we were in Philly, you ain’t making me quit in my hometown, I’m going to SLEEP son.”

Line up a killer like Ian Garry, Joaquin Buckley, or even the ghost of Kamaru Usman if he wants one more go. Sell it out, bring Brady home, and let him go full Rocky IV in his own city.
Sean Brady just wrecked a former world champ, shouted out the Birds, and made it clear that he’s coming for UFC gold. Whether it’s this year or early 2026, Brady’s time is coming.
And when it does, I hope he walks to the cage with “Fly, Eagles Fly” blasting.
Let’s run it back one more time for the folks in the cheap seats:
Go Birds. Go Brady. Philly vs. Everybody.
Coming back to Philly 😎💸
