Caitlin Clark sends emotional message to JuJu Watkins following her heartbreaking injury, yet receives public backlash for it

It brings me great joy to once again report on the greatest show in women’s basketball—Caitlin Clark. But of course, even in a moment of pure class from the face of the sport, the usual suspects found a way to be mad online.

After USC star JuJu Watkins suffered a brutal torn ACL just minutes into their second-round NCAA tournament game against Mississippi State, Caitlin Clark sent her well wishes like any great competitor would.

Seems harmless, right? A show of support from one generational talent to another. But nope—Clark’s haters locked in on one word: kid. Apparently, referring to a 19-year-old sophomore as “kid” is now some sort of crime?

Manufactured Controversy at Its Finest

The agenda is so obvious at this point. The same people who have been waiting for any reason to criticize Clark are now pretending to be offended over what was clearly a sign of respect. Meanwhile, JuJu herself would probably tell you she doesn’t care—she’s got bigger things to worry about, like rehabbing her knee and coming back stronger next season.

For those keeping track, Watkins had been putting up absurd numbers all year: 24.6 points, seven rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game. She was a major reason USC locked up a No. 1 seed in the tourney. And now, unfortunately, her season ends like this.

A Tough Break, But She’ll Be Back

It’s a tough break for a rising star, but if there’s anyone who can bounce back, it’s JuJu. Hopefully, the haters can take a break from their nonsense and just appreciate two greats showing mutual respect. But who am I kidding? Caitlin Clark breathes, and these people lose their minds.
