Phillies NL East Odds

Now is the time to bet the house on the Phillies to win the NL East

The Phillies are second-favorite to win the NL East behind the Atlanta Braves, and if you’re the type of person who likes to place a well-timed bet, this might be the window.

As of Opening Week, DraftKings has the Phillies at +210, while the Braves sit at +110, and the Mets trail slightly at +240. FanDuel is even more bullish on the Phillies, listing them at +190, just behind the Braves at +125, and ahead of the Mets at +220.

The Nationals and Marlins? Don’t waste your time.or your money. Those are donations, not wagers. You’d be better off opening a crypto casino in your garage.

The odds for the Phillies to win the NL East will never be better

This division is loaded at the top, but the Braves are going to be without Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider until at least May. Even if both return on schedule, it’ll likely take another few weeks for them to get fully dialed in.

That’s not nothing—those are arguably the Braves’ two most important players.

And the early schedule isn’t doing Atlanta any favors. Thirteen of their first 20 games are on the road, including seven against the Padres and Dodgers so yeah, good luck with that.

Now look at the Phillies’ opening stretch: Nationals and Rockies. There’s a real chance this team starts 6-0 and gets some breathing room early.

The Mets? Absolutely Not…lol

Yes, the Mets signed Juan Soto. That’s cool and all, but check out their rotation:

  • Clay Holmes (not a starter until now)
  • Tylor Megill
  • Griffin Canning
  • David Peterson
  • Kodai Senga

That is…not inspiring. That’s a mid-June triple-header split-squad Spring Training lineup, not a rotation meant to win the best division in baseball.

Everyone Forgot How Good the Phillies Were Last Year

It’s wild how quickly people forget what the Phillies did last season. A couple of bad breaks, a brutal postseason collapse, and suddenly everyone’s acting like they’re just the third wheel in a Braves-Mets race. Let’s be clear: the Phillies won 95 games and the NL East in 2024. That’s not ancient history. That’s last season.

Yes, the ending was a nightmare. They got bounced in the NLDS by the Mets—a team that had no business winning that series—but let’s not let one October choke job erase five months of top-tier baseball.

Look a little deeper and you’ll see the Phillies were a wagon through the first half of 2024. They were top-5 in runs scored and top-5 in team ERA at the break. The wheels didn’t fall off—they got yanked off one at a time by injuries and an endless rotation of nobodies in the No. 5 spot.

Remember when they were throwing out the likes of Tyler Phillips, Koby Allard, Michael Mercado, and other waiver wire wonders every fifth day? Yeah. That’s where half the losses came from in the second half.

And still—they won 95 games.

Phillies Rotation is ELITE

Now you’ve got a healthy Zack Wheeler, a reset Aaron Nola, and Cristopher Sánchez coming off an All-Star season. Jesus Luardo is now wearing red pinstripes and Ranger Suárez will be back soon.

Try to forget that Taijuan Walker slots in as the fifth guy until Suarez returns and focus on Andrew Painter, who should be ready for The Show by June. That’s a rotation with no dead weight. No patchwork starts. No openers. Just dudes who eat innings and punch tickets.

The Braves have Chris Sale—but who knows what version they’re getting? After that, it’s a whole lot of “maybe” with Spencer Schwellenbach and Reynaldo Lopez trying to hold down rotation spots until Strider returns.

Does that scare you? If so, I’m not sure what to tell you. Maybe find a new hobby outside of watching baseball.

The Time Is Now…

If you’re considering betting the Phils to win the NL East, now is the time.

Odds aren’t going to plummet overnight, but a strong April could move this number closer to +150 or lower. That means less value, and more regret for sitting on the sidelines.

The Braves are banged up. The Mets are unserious. And the Phillies are undoubtedly loaded and ready to take advantage so do yourself a favor and don’t wait until everyone else figures it out.
