LeBron James Stephen A. Smith Media Tour

LeBron James vs Stephen A. Smith’s ‘Taylor Swift Media Tour’ has reached a whole new level

Wild times in the world of NBA media beef. Just when you thought the LeBron James vs. Stephen A. Smith drama had settled into a weird little corner of the internet, Stephen A. dropped a nuclear video clip on Tuesday, saying that if LeBron put hands on him, he would have “swung on him” immediately.

“If that man put his hands on me, I would’ve immediately swung on him. Immediately.”

Now THAT’S a statement.

From the guy who once said he wanted to fight Kevin Durant with a legal team present, we’ve now graduated to full-on fantasy fisticuffs with LeBron James.

Stephen A. Smith, all 5’10” and 140 lbs soaking wet, squaring up with a 6’8″, 250-pound LeBron built like a defensive end with a handle. Sure, man. Sure.

Naturally, this clip blew up like everything else Stephen A. touches. But then things got even more ridiculous when he took to Twitter/X/whatever we’re calling it this week and tried to backpedal:

“Nice try folks. On my show, I said I would’ve swung on @KingJames had he slapped me… I also said immediately after that I would’ve gotten my ass thoroughly kicked by the 6’8”, 250lb Goliath… but folks just left that part of my YouTube sentence out, huh? Okay. Have fun!”

This is where it gets hilarious. The man who’s built an entire career off of fiery clips and edited takes, who has monetized soundbite culture like nobody else in sports media history, is now mad that… a clip of him was edited?

Come on, brother. You make your living chopping up six-second clips to feed the engagement beast. You don’t get to cry foul when someone turns the editing scissors around on you.

And the part where Stephen A. said “I would’ve swung on him… and immediately gotten my ass kicked”? That’s not some masterclass in humility — that’s just damage control. That’s the fine print. He went viral off the boldface headline. He knows the game because he created the game.

LeBron James, as much as I hate to admit it, is playing this whole thing perfectly. He lobbed a shot on The Pat McAfee Show saying Stephen A. went on a “Taylor Swift tour run” after their original run-in. Which is… accurate.

LeBron James: “Stephen A Smith is on a Taylor Swift tour run right now.”

Stephen A. hit every media platform short of The Liberty Line to talk about LeBron looking at him sideways. And now we’re out here pretending we’re on the verge of a celebrity boxing match.

Stephen A. Smith lives for this. He doesn’t actually want to fight LeBron. He just wants you to think he’d throw a punch, so you’ll watch his next segment, click his next tweet, or fire off a “he ain’t bout it” post on Reddit.

And hey — here we are. Talking about it. Again.

But hey, hats off to Stephen A. Smith. The guy might not win in a scrap with LeBron (or even Max Kellerman), but when it comes to staying relevant, he’s undefeated.
