Tyler O’Neill Home Run Opening Day

WATCH: Tyler O’Neill extends record by hitting a home run on 6th straight Opening Day

Death. Taxes. Tyler O’Neill going yard on Opening Day. Add it to the list of annual guarantees, because the Maple Leaf Masher did it again — this time as a member of the Baltimore Orioles.

Tyler O’Neill made his O’s debut in style on Thursday afternoon, launching a three-run bomb off Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios in the third inning to break the game wide open. It gave the O’s a 5-0 lead and gave O’Neill a major league record: six straight Opening Day home runs.

Let’s run it back:

  • 2025: New team, same story — first swing, deep into the Baltimore sky
  • 2020-2023: Homers in four consecutive openers with the St. Louis Cardinals
  • 2024: Does it again with the Red Sox

Tyler O’Neil hits MLB record 6th straight home run on Opening Day

That’s three different teams, six different seasons, and the same ridiculous result every time.

Poor Jose Berrios was just the latest to join the highlight reel. A hanging pitch in the zone, and O’Neill turned on it like he was offended it existed.

Six consecutive Opening Days with a home run. That’s not a streak — that’s tradition at this point.

Tyler O’Neill is built for Opening Day the same way Michael Myers is built for Halloween.

When O’Neill sees March on the calendar, his bat starts twitching. The dude was probably doing deadlifts at 6 a.m. while watching old highlights of himself ruining pitchers’ ERA on day one.

Six straight seasons is feat that sounds made up, right?

This is goes the whole way back before COVID-19 when the world was a completely different place. That’s wild. O’Neill wasted zero time putting his stamp on Camden Yards, punishing a pitch and sending it on a mission to the moon.

The only thing more predictable than Tyler O’Neill homering in Game 1 is Canada forgetting what a baseball glove looks like during the playoffs.

Side Note: Fuck Canada.

Fitting that the Maple Leaf Masher terrorized his fellow countrymen on a national stage. A new club, same result. And this time, he’s doing it for one of the most dangerous lineups in baseball.

The O’s didn’t just bring in a guy who can rake — they brought in a tone-setter. Three bombs in four innings? Sheesh. Baltimore didn’t come to play small ball this year. O’Neill’s first impression couldn’t have been louder if he rolled into the dugout on a Harley.

If you’re keeping track at home (and you should be), Tyler O’Neill’s last six Opening Day box scores all include a souvenir for someone in the outfield seats. That’s not luck. That’s not a fluke. That’s a guy who shows up when it counts.

Welcome to Birdland, TON. The streak lives.
