Jordan Romano Last Name Pronunciation

T-Mac sets the record straight on how to pronounce Jordan Romano’s last name

How do you pronounce Jordan Romano’s last night?

Look, I don’t ask for much. A couple strikeouts from my closer, a functioning bullpen, and the occasional chance to shout “Hey it’s Jordan Ro-MAHHHH-no!” at Jordan Romano like I’m doing a bad Sopranos impression in the back of a South Philly bakery.

But no. T-Mac just casually dropped a bomb on all of us.

Apparently, this isn’t even new information.

Blue Jays announcers have been saying it like this for years. YEARS. You go back through the old broadcasts, the postgame interviews, the highlight montages — it’s all there.

Jordan Romano has always been Ro-MAN-o and we just weren’t listening.

Maybe we were in denial? Maybe we just really, really wanted the Italian pronunciation?

Because let’s be honest: Ro-MAHH-no sounded like a guy who could throw 98 with movement and also make a mean red sauce.

Best reply to T-Mac’s Clarification…lol

Seriously though, Ro-MAN-o?

To say the very least, I’m surprised.

The South Philly Italian Contingent must be heartbroken to learn the news. Jordan Romano repped Italy in the 2017 World Baseball Classic and was supposed to suit up again in 2023.

The Italian memes were locked and loaded. But now I feel like the pasta puns are useless and we’re not getting the full experience we thought we signed up for.

It’s just…Jordan Romano, normal guy with a MAN-O last name.

Don’t get me wrong, the name correction doesn’t change what he does on the mound.

Romano tossed a scoreless inning as the Phillies swept the Rockies today down in South Philly, allowing a hit and striking out one.  It won’t stop Philly Sports Talk Radio callers from pronouncing it any differently either.

Maybe Phillies fans will adjust…eventually.

Deep down, I’ll always miss Ro-MAHH-no, the closer I made up in my head who looked like he’d argue about parking spots outside a pizza place and still be on the mound 30 minutes later slamming the door in the ninth.

Ro-MAN-o? He’s fine too, I guess.
