Livvy Dunne & Paul Skenes Just Survived the Ultimate Relationship Hardship — And Honestly, Gen Z Should Take Notes
Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes are the latest celebrity power couple making headlines. The two recently teamed up for a GQ photoshoot, and — as expected — some interesting questions (and even better answers) came out of it.
Modern dating is a dumpster fire. Dating apps have turned relationships into an endless cycle of swiping and ghosting, nobody actually likes each other, and people have the emotional depth of a microwave. Standards are either non-existent or completely delusional—half of Gen Z thinks they deserve a billionaire with a six-pack who also happens to be emotionally available.
And yet, in the middle of all this chaos, we somehow ended up with Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes—a couple that, from all appearances, actually functions like two normal human beings.
Livvy Dunne & Paul Skenes survive the ultimate hardship
Like any strong couple, they’ve already survived a true test of love. A defining moment. A trial by fire.
Paul Skenes — future MLB superstar, 6’6” flamethrower, the ideal man for every single girl out there — did not follow Livvy back on Instagram.

A weaker couple would have crumbled. How could they possibly go on when the sacred act of the follow back had been neglected? But somehow, some way, they fought through. Livvy was confused—rightfully so. “Who is this guy and why won’t he follow me back?” she recalled in their GQ interview, baffled that a single soul on LSU’s campus wasn’t engaging with her content.
Paul’s excuse? He simply didn’t care. He was too busy striking people out and preparing to be the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB Draft. An athlete with actual focus? In this economy? Unheard of.
Maybe Gen Z Should Take Notes
But here’s the thing—Livvy Dunne and Paul Skene’s relationship actually makes sense. It’s refreshingly normal. They didn’t meet on some dating app where everyone is lying about their height and pretending to be interesting. They didn’t get together because one of them wanted a “clout couple” for brand deals. Livvy liked Paul because he was just doing his own thing and not thirsting for attention. Imagine that.
If anything, their relationship is proof that not everything has to be a chaotic mess of “situationships” and unhinged TikTok relationship debates. Two people who like each other, support each other’s careers, and actually seem to enjoy being together? What a revolutionary concept.
So yeah, modern dating is still cooked. But Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes? They might actually be doing it right. A wild concept to digest, I know. But here’s the thing, for some reason it’s popular to hate on successful people or people that appear to be doing things right.
That’s just the generation we live in now due to social media. And while I don’t know either of these two superstars personally, from my perspective, it seems like a perfectly normal relationship. Especially given how poorly a “power couple” relationship can go.
