Bryson Stott pulled off a mid-game gender reveal for a friend on Saturday night vs Dodgers
While most players are focused on pitch recognition and exit velocity during an at-bat, Bryson Stott was out here multitasking like a damn hero.
During Saturday’s matchup between the Phillies and Dodgers — a game that saw top Japanese prospect Roki Sasaki toe the rubber — Stott quietly made history in the most wholesome way possible: he did a gender reveal mid-game.
Roki Sasaki didn’t blow the roof off, but the Phillies still couldn’t crack the code
When Stott stepped to the plate in the second inning, eagle-eyed viewers noticed something strange — a pink armband on his left arm. It wasn’t for breast cancer awareness and it wasn’t some new uniform promotion, but rather a shoutout to his friend Ryan Stevens, who just found out he and his wife are expecting a baby girl.

Now that’s elite teammate energy..or in this case, elite friend energy.
We’re talking about a guy in the middle of a big league game, wearing his emotions — and his buddy’s family news — on his sleeve. Literally.
The at-bat itself wasn’t so magical. Stott grounded out against Sasaki, part of an 0-for-3 day at the plate. The Phillies lost the game 3-1. But hey, as they always say — sometimes baseball gives you bigger moments than the scoreboard.
Bryson Stott pulled it off perfectly. Congrats to the Stevens family and props to Bryson Stott, who somehow made a groundout one of the best moments of the season so far.
