Bryson Stott

WATCH: Bryson Stott packs a Zyn and turns into Babe Ruth during Phillies vs. Mets game

It’s never fun losing to the New York Mets, and it’s especially painful watching Aaron Nola get carved up out there. I totally get it. But on the bright side, Bryson Stott tried doing everything he could to get the Phillies back in this game. Which included him throwing a Zyn pouch in.

We’re not saying nicotine gave him superpowers, but we’re not not saying that either.

After striking out earlier in the game, looking at a pitch, the broadcast caught Stott in the dugout with a sneaky little move — a quick toss of a Zyn into the bottom lip around the top of the fifth inning. Nothing crazy. Just a the typical pick me up for us nicotine users. What followed was one of the most insane Zyn transformations I’ve ever seen.

WATCH: Bryson Stott AKA Bryzyn Stott

Bottom of the fifth, Stott stumbles slightly on a ground ball and guns down a Mets runner like he was shot out of a cannon. Mets fans were still doing the wave while Stott was making web gems.

Next inning? Juan Soto ropes one into the hole, and Bryzyn-Stott lays out for an impressive catch to get the Mets star out. One Zyn pouch deep and he’s already halfway to a Platinum Glove.

Now here’s where it gets absolutely absurd.

Down 5-1 in the ninth, I’m sure most of us Phillies fans checked out of this game entirely.

Then, BOOM. JT Realmuto gives us a heartbeat with an RBI single. Enter Bryson Stott. Full lip. No fear. And absolutely launches a three-run nuke off Edwin Díaz, who up until that point looked like he was in control. Suddenly it’s 5-4 and we have some life.

Unfortunately, Edwin Díaz composed himself, struck out Trea Turner and Bryce Harper back-to-back, and walked off like nothing even happened. Ballgame. 5-4 Mets. A moral victory if moral victories counted in April standings. They don’t.
