Howie Roseman Cookin’ Again: Eagles trade down twice, stack draft picks for 2025 and 2026

Well, if you were sitting around Friday night waiting for the Eagles to make a third-round pick, sorry to disappoint. Instead, Howie Roseman did what Howie Roseman does best — flip the board upside down, scoop up more picks, and leave everyone else scratching their heads.

First, the Eagles traded with the Falcons:

• Sent: Pick 96 (3rd round)
• Got: Pick 101 (3rd round) and a 2026 fifth-rounder

Howie wasn’t done — he immediately flipped the 101st pick in a deal with the Broncos:

• Sent: Pick 101 and Pick 134 (4th round)
• Got: Pick 111 (4th round), Pick 130 (4th round), and Pick 191 (6th round)

In two moves, the Eagles gave up their third-rounder and one fourth-rounder… and came away with two fourths, a sixth, and another pick next year.

Rolling into Day 3, the Eagles are loaded:

• 4th Round: 111 and 130
• 5th Round: 161, 165, 168
• 6th Round: 191

Oh, and by the way — they’re now sitting on 12 picks for the 2026 draft. Twelve. A full war chest. Good luck to everyone else trying to keep up.

Howie Roseman even explained the logic after the moves:

“As we got closer to our pick, we had a couple of opportunities that we felt like maximized where we were on our board and getting that pick next year. I think we’re going to be at 12 or 13 picks next year, a lot of them in the first five rounds. That’s exciting.”

Yeah, exciting is one word for it. Absolutely diabolical is another.

Big Picture for the Birds

Look — this was always going to be a depth-building draft for the Birds. They already landed two blue-chip talents in Quinyon Mitchell and Jihaad Campbell in the first round. After that, it was all about stacking value and filling out the roster for the long haul.

No third-round pick? Who cares. The Eagles are about to flood camp with young talent, create real competition, and have the flexibility to move up, down, sideways, whatever they want next year too.
