Eugenio Suarez joins rare company with an unbelievable 4 home run game vs Braves

Well, we didn’t have “Eugenio Suarez turns into Barry Bonds for a night” on the 2025 MLB bingo card, but here we are.

The Arizona Diamondbacks infielder had the game of his life Saturday night at Chase Field, smashing four home runs in a wild matchup against the Atlanta Braves. And get this — Suarez went deep in all four of his at-bats.

Eugenio Suarez Saved the Best for Last

If the first three bombs weren’t enough, Suarez’s fourth homer was the biggest of the bunch — a game-tying shot in the bottom of the ninth to keep the Diamondbacks alive.

The guy was basically on fire every time he touched the bat. Pose, admire, trot. Repeat.

Suarez, now 33 years old, became just the 19th player in MLB history to have a four-homer game — and the first to do it since JD Martinez back in 2017.

To put it in perspective, four-homer games are even rarer than perfect games. (There have been 24 perfect games in MLB history. Only 19 four-homer performances. Wild.)

It’s a little extra shocking considering Suarez came into the night hitting just .167 on the season. He’s no stranger to power — he’s had eight 20-homer seasons and cranked 49 bombs back in 2019 — but nobody could have seen this kind of eruption coming, especially hitting out of the No. 6 spot.

Unfortunately for Suarez, baseball is still a team game. Even after his historic night, the Diamondbacks ended up falling to the Braves 8-7 in 10 innings after a wild pitch from Justin Martinez let the go-ahead run score.

Tough way to end it. But Suarez still walks away with one hell of a night — and a permanent spot in the MLB record books.

You never know who’s going to make history on any given night. Sometimes it’s a superstar.
Sometimes it’s the guy hitting .167 who wakes up feeling dangerous.
