Anonymous Colorado fan sues NFL for $100M due to emotional trauma of Shedeur Sanders falling in NFL Draft
I didn’t realize Colorado fans were such snowflakes — but here we are. After Shedeur Sanders slid in the 2025 NFL Draft, one anonymous Colorado fan is now trying to sue the NFL for $100 million, claiming emotional trauma from the fall.
Colorado fans crying victim over something that doesn’t involve them, classic
It’s a doozy, but you can read the entire lawsuit here.
Among other things, John Doe is seeking relief because of alleged violations of antitrust and civil rights laws, claiming NFL teams colluded to suppress Shedeur Sanders’ draft position and that racial bias influenced draft decisions. They also allege intentional infliction of emotional distress and deceptive practices that misled consumers about the integrity of the draft process.
The plaintiff wants a few things from the NFL, on top of the $100M. They’re seeking a formal acknowledgment from the NFL for the emotional distress caused, a public retraction and apology for alleged slander against Shedeur Sanders, reforms to ensure fairness in the draft process, $100M in punitive damages, and any additional remedies the court finds appropriate, including compensatory damages.
Imagine actually paying a lawyer to draft this nonsense. John Doe clearly has no shot at winning, but honestly, that’s not even the conversation we should be having. The real question is: who is John Doe? And I think the answer is pretty obvious.
Mel Kiper had a full-blown meltdown on ESPN’s draft coverage the moment Sanders was picked. He whined for what felt like an hour, ranting about how the NFL can’t evaluate quarterbacks. If anyone’s behind this, it’s him. Classic move from a Hall of Fame crybaby.
