Phillies power surge continues as Castellanos, Schwarber, and Bohm go yard in 8-4 win over Rays
That sound you heard in Tampa Tuesday night was the Phillies’ bats waking the hell up.
Nick Castellanos dropped the hammer with a three-run moonshot in the eighth, Kyle Schwarber stayed red-hot with another bomb, and Alec Bohm finally joined the home run party as the Phillies rolled the Rays, 8-4, at Steinbrenner Field.
Castellanos finished 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs, including the backbreaking three-run shot that turned a nail-biter into a comfy win. It was vintage Nick—big spot, big swing, big damage.

Kyle Schwarber stayed red hot by crushing a 97 mph fastball in the second inning for his 12th of the year, added two more hits, and extended his on-base streak to a ridiculous 41 straight games.
At this point, you could blindfold him and he’d still find a way to get on base.

And shoutout to Alec Bohm, who ended his power drought with his first homer since last September—a two-run rocket that gave the Phils a 3-0 lead early.

Meanwhile, Zack Wheeler was out there doing Zack Wheeler things. Seven innings, four hits, no walks, nine punchouts. The only blemish? A two-run homer to Yandy DĂaz in the fourth. After that, he slammed the door shut—11 of the next 12 retired.
Phillies Game Notes:
The eighth inning flipped the script. The Phillies were clinging to a 3-2 lead until they ripped off four straight hits to open the frame. Schwarber knocked in one. Castellanos took Englert deep. Game over.
Schwarber now has five homers in his last seven games. That 41-game on-base streak is the longest in MLB this season.
Up Next for the Phillies:
Cristopher Sánchez (3-1, 3.45 ERA) gets the ball Wednesday night as the Phillies go for the series win. Tampa counters with Shane Baz (3-1, 3.86 ERA).
Seven wins in the last nine for The Fightins.
