Daryl Morey Tone Dead 97.5 Fanatic Interview

Clueless: Daryl Morey still doesn’t get it after another tone deaf interview on Philly Sports Talk Radio

Daryl Morey is Clueless. It’s one thing to run a team into the ground. It’s another to do it with a smug grin and a monotone lecture on the radio like you’re reciting a math equation instead of talking to a city that bleeds for its teams.

But that’s exactly what Daryl Morey did this week—remind everyone in Philadelphia just how out of touch he is with the fanbase, the city, and what the Sixers have become under his watch.

The guy actually sat on the radio and tried to sell optimism. He wanted us to know the Sixers had the third-best odds to win the championship before the season started—as if that’s supposed to make up for the lifeless basketball we watched down the stretch and another playoff faceplant. He said it like he expected applause. I almost threw up.

Daryl Morey wants you to remember the Sixers had the 3rd best odds in the East…

Let’s be honest: the Sixers didn’t just underachieve this season. They were an embarrassment. And for the guy at the top to hop on air and pat himself on the back for a preseason projection while the Celtics and Knicks are steamrolling through the playoffs is tone-deaf beyond belief. It’s insulting.

Daryl Morey’s Resume Means Nothing Here

Morey loves to bring up his track record. How he never misses the playoffs. How he built contenders in Houston. How he’s been doing this a long time. Cool. That might impress the national media or his analytics buddies in some Silicon Valley Slack channel, but it means nothing to a Philly fan base that’s been living in second-round hell for over a decade.

This isn’t Houston. This is Philadelphia. We don’t care how many graphs you can pull up to justify a 47-win season and an early exit. We want results. Actual ones. Not PowerPoint slides. Not theoretical models. Not a lecture on variance.

We wanted a title. What we got was another wasted year of Joel Embiid’s prime, another roster full of question marks, and a general manager who genuinely seems confused why people are so angry.

Hey Daryl Morey, Stop Talking and Do Something

The worst part is that Morey still has a job. After everything—after Harden quit, after the bench disappeared, after another epic postseason collapse—he still walks around like nothing happened. Like he’s playing chess and we’re too dumb to understand the moves.

No. We get it. And we’re tired of it.

In this city, accountability matters. We’ve watched Howie Roseman rebuild the Eagles twice. We’ve watched Dave Dombrowski drag the Phillies back to relevance. And now we’re stuck with a GM who thinks Sixers fans should be grateful they weren’t a lottery team?

Give me a break.

If Daryl Morey wants to win back this city, he needs to stop talking and start fixing. No more radio tours. No more “look at the odds.” No more hiding behind Embiid and Maxey. Make the right moves. Build a real team. Deliver something meaningful.

Until then, spare us the smug speeches. We’ve heard enough.
