WATCH: Vegas steals Game 3 at the buzzer, stuns Edmonton with 0.4-second winner
Game 3 between the Oilers and Golden Knights delivered one of the most shocking finishes you’ll ever see in playoff hockey.
With just 0.4 seconds left in regulation, Reilly Smith fired a puck across the front of the net — and somehow, it ended up in the back of it.
The game-winner deflected off Leon Draisaitl’s stick and past Stuart Skinner (kind of) to give Vegas a dramatic 4-3 win and cut the Oilers’ series lead to 2-1.
Connor McDavid tied it up late in the third with a vintage, spooky little goal that looked like hockey gods were greasing the rails for Edmonton. They had all the momentum, the crowd was foaming at the mouth, and Vegas looked ready to fold.

What happened next couldn’t have scripted the game it any better — or more heartbreakingly — if you’re an Oilers fan.
With 0.4 seconds left in regulation, Reilly Smith delivered a goal that felt like it was yanked straight out of a sports movie. It was his second of the night and capped a wild 4-3 win for the Golden Knights.
Smith deked a sliding Darnell Nurse in the slot, swung wide, and with almost no angle below the left circle, flung a puck through the crease. Leon Draisaitl, scrambling to cover the open net, had it go off his stick and in.
Whatever this was, it saved Vegas’ season — for now.
Vegas wins Game 3 at the BUZZER
This was a game Vegas had to have. Down 3-0 in a series is a death sentence. They knew it. And when they lost captain Mark Stone to injury in the first period, it could’ve deflated them. Instead, they responded with a little help from Draisaitl and the Oilers.
Karlsson had a goal and an assist. Adin Hill made 17 saves and Smith played the hero — with just enough time on the clock to etch his name into playoff lore.
Game 4 is Monday night in Edmonton. This series has had everything: goals, drama, weird bounces, and now a gut-punch for the Oilers to chew on. They’re still up 2-1, but after this finish, the pressure is right back on them.
Meanwhile, Vegas is alive. Reeling. But alive.
