Eagles 2025 schedule

Eagles make NFL history with the weirdest Super Bowl champ schedule ever

The Eagles just won the Super Bowl, so naturally, the NFL decided to thank them by handing out the strangest schedule in league history. You’d think hoisting the Lombardi would earn you some perks, but instead, the 2025 slate looks like it was drawn up by someone who’s never watched football and actively dislikes Philadelphia.

Let’s start with the headline: the Eagles are the first Super Bowl champion in NFL history to not have a single stretch of back-to-back home games the following season. That’s never happened before. Not to the Chiefs, not to the Patriots, not even the 2017 Eagles team. Only this group, coming off the most dominant playoff run we’ve seen in years.

Eagles Get the Short End of the Stick After Title Run

It’s not just the lack of home cooking that makes this schedule outrageous. The divisional matchups are oddly stacked too. The Eagles play both of their games against the Commanders and the Giants within three-week spans. That means half of the division schedule will be over in less than a month. The NFL basically put their NFC East rivals on speed run mode.

Then there’s the primetime circus: two Thursday Night Football games in the first six weeks, and two Monday Night Football games between Weeks 10 and 14. Add in a Week 16 matchup with the Commanders (on a Saturday), and only 65% of the Eagles’ games will be played on Sunday. That’s not a typo — over a third of the season is off the traditional slate.

And let’s not forget the regular-season finale. The Eagles will host the Commanders in what should be an NFC Championship rematch, but thanks to the scheduling gods, that game might be meaningless if playoff seeding is already locked up.

The NFL claims to value parity and fairness. If that’s true, they’ve got a funny way of showing it. The Eagles delivered a Super Bowl and got rewarded with travel fatigue, no home rhythm, and primetime chaos. Good thing this team thrives on adversity, because they’re going to get plenty of it.

Bottom line: the Eagles are making history again in 2025 — just not the kind they expected.
