WATCH: Tyrese Maxey is working out with Justin Edwards, taking advice from Sixers fans on social media

Tyrese Maxey is back in the lab—and he’s got jokes.

After missing the final 22 games of the season with a finger injury and watching the Philadelphia 76ers flame out of the playoff picture, Maxey is wasting no time getting back to work this summer.

The former All-Star guard has been training in Dallas, taking Justin Edwards under his wing and getting back to full health.

“Justin was really good for us last year,” Maxey said. “He showed a lot of upside, and I think he’ll be a very key piece of our future.”

Tyrese Maxey on Twitter:

That specific tweet prompted a fan to, uh, suggest he get back in the gym in not-so-family-friendly terms. Maxey, never one to shy away from having fun online, fired back with a simple: “YESSIR 😂”

In typical Maxey fashion, the tone was playful, but the intent was clear—he’s locked in.

As Requested, Tyrese Maxey back in the gym:

This offseason hits a little different for the 23-year-old guard. For the first time in his young career, he didn’t get a taste of postseason basketball. Injuries derailed the Sixers’ 2024-25 campaign, and Maxey’s own absence down the stretch didn’t help.

The finger is no longer a concern, though. Maxey is full go, and from the sounds of it, he’s already laying the foundation for a bounce-back season in Philly—both for himself and for one of the team’s most promising young players.

The work is being done. The vibes are back. And Tyrese Maxey’s already counting down the days until the Wells Fargo Center lights up in October.
