Bryce Harper was right: Rockies become first team ever to reach 50 losses before winning 10 games
Well, they’ve done it. The Colorado Rockies are officially in the record books — and not in a way anyone would ever want to be. After getting swept by the Mets this weekend, the Rockies now sit at 9-50 on the season.
That makes them the first team in MLB history to lose 50 games before winning 10.
Let that sink in.
This is something I’ve been watching for weeks. I didn’t think they’d actually do it — figured they’d sneak in a random win or two just to avoid this kind of history. But nope. They just kept losing. June 1st rolls around, still stuck at nine wins.
Context: Even the disaster 2024 White Sox had 15 wins through 58 games. The Rockies? 9-50. It’s truly staggering.
And it gets better — or worse, depending on your perspective. Antonio Senzatela is sitting at 1-10 on the season. Yes, a starting pitcher with 10 losses before the team even gets to 10 wins. That’s art.
Since firing Bud Black, the Rockies are 2-16. They’ve lost 22 straight series. They opened the season 6-26 and have gone 3-24 since.
It’s honestly hard to wrap your head around how bad this season is shaping up to be and it reminds me of Bryce Harper literally telling this organization to their faces that they are a bunch of losers two years ago. They should have payed closer attention, honestly.
Bryce Harper going OFF on the Colorado Rockies
Note: Remember when the Sixers played basketball in May and people actually watched them over the Phillies? Man, how the times have changed.
Anyways Bryce Harper was telling the Rockies they were losers 2 years ago
The Rockies will get win No. 10 against the Miami Marlins…maybe
Next up for Colorado is a series with the Marlins. So maybe — maybe — they can finally crack double-digit wins but as we have all witnessed with this team, nothing’s guaranteed.
50 losses before 10 wins is one of those marks I’m fairly confident we’ll never see broken again. It’s hard to be this bad. Truly remarkable stuff.
Congrats to the Rockies — they made history. Just not the kind anyone’s going to want to remember.
