JT Realmuto Nut Shot Toronto

WATCH: JT Realmuto exits game after taking brutal shot to the nuts in Toronto

Welp… that’s one way to lose a game. JT Realmuto took one for all of us on Wednesday night — and I mean that in the most painful way possible.

With the Phillies and Blue Jays tied 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth at Rogers Centre, Bo Bichette came to the plate and accidentally delivered an absolutely savage shot right to Realmuto’s family jewels.

Bichette barely clipped a 94-mph fastball from Jordan Romano, redirecting the ball straight into Realmuto’s groin area. The sound, the reaction — all of it was enough to make every man watching instantly wince.

Yeah, the cup wasn’t saving anyone from that direct hit.

Realmuto was down immediately and needed a few minutes before being helped off the field. He could barely walk as he exited and was replaced by Rafael Marchán for the remainder of the inning.

Of course, because this is Phillies baseball right now, things only got worse from there. Three batters later, Alejandro Kirk delivered a walk-off single to give Toronto the 2-1 win. Tough night all around.

And as if JT hadn’t already had his share of beatings this season, this has to rank up there as one of the worst nut shots we’ve seen in recent memory — maybe since Gary Sanchez took one to the stones a few years back.

No update yet on JT Realmuto’s status for Thursday’s series finale, but I’d imagine he’ll be walking very gingerly for a few days.
