WATCH: DeMarcus Cousins wanted to fight an entire arena of basketball fans in Puerto Rico

Maybe it’s just me but I did not have “DeMarcus Cousins gets ejected and tries to fight an arena full of Puerto Rican fans” on my 2025 bingo card.

Boogie was back in the headlines last night for doing what he does best by bringing complete chaos to a basketball court, this time not in Sacramento or New Orleans, but in Puerto Rico.

After getting tossed from a game in the Puerto Rican league, Cousins had to be held back by four grown men — and that might not have been enough. There was a moment where he started to break free, and for a split second, it felt like we were about to witness Malice at the Palacio.

The fans didn’t exactly de-escalate the situation either. Beers flew. Trash rained down. One dude looked like he was trying to chuck his entire dinner plate. Cousins, naturally, responded by trying to charge the crowd and in what can only be described as a vintage Boogie moment he delivered a full-on, no-hesitation crotch grab to a fan in the front row.

Forget double birds. That’s basic. Boogie reached for the nuclear option. Hands down (literally), one of the more underused moves in player vs. fan history. You have to have serious confidence to pull that off mid-meltdown.

To be honest, I have no idea what sparked the on-court altercation that led to the ejection, and I’m not sure it even matters. The post-ejection chaos was the main event. Cousins clearly felt disrespected, and when you start getting pelted with beer cups and garbage, the fight-or-flight instinct kicks in.

DeMarcus Cousins has never been a “flight” guy.

What’s even more insane is that it’s 2025 and Cousins is out here still playing professional basketball. He’s not in China, not in Dubai, but in Puerto Rico, throwing hands and grabbing crotches like it’s 2014 all over again.

Most guys with his résumé are somewhere doing TV hits or chilling on a boat. Not Boogie. He’s built different. Say what you want about DeMarcus Cousins — the dude’s been through it. Torn Achilles, bad luck, worse timing, a league that moved on without him.

One thing has never changed…DeMarcus Cousins being a straight-up dawg and obviously, that’s good enough for me to give him another shot in the NBA, specifically on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Again, it took four grown men to hold him back, and even then it looked like he was about to break loose. Add in that disrespectful, full-thrust crotch grab to a front-row heckler and it was simply icing on the cake.

That’s not just chaos. That’s art, brother.

Anyways, back to the 76ers. They literally do not have this type of guy in the locker room. Who’s ready to turn the entire place upside down if somebody gets too comfortable? Jared McCain? Please.

This team needs vibes and violence. The 76ers are the laughing stock of the NBA and someone needs to restore order to the realm.

Boogie just may be that guy.

You think Jayson Tatum’s driving the lane with the same confidence if DeMarcus Cousins is lurking near the restricted area, snarling and talking to himself like he’s in a cage match? You think the Knicks would be out there trying to clown the Sixers on their own court with Boogie on the bench, daring someone to test him?

Analytics are cool. Efficiency matters. But there comes a time in every playoff series where someone needs to get in the other team’s head. When everything tightens up and the stars are grinding, you need an agent of chaos and a dawg who doesn’t flinch.

Maybe that guy is DeMarcus Cousins?

I mean, probably not…but maybe? I’m just saying. The 76ers could do us all a favor and entertain us for once.

Give DeMarcus Cousins a vet minimum. Let him be the enforcer. Let him set some hard screens, throw a few elbows, and make sure no one on the opposing team leaves the game without a bruise.

Boogie doesn’t need 30 minutes a night. Hell, the entire incident last night took about 3 minutes and delivered everything and then some. DeMarcus Cousins just needs one moment to let everyone know the Sixers aren’t soft anymore.
