WATCH: Josh Naylor hit’s walk-off grand slam, acts like Diamondbacks lost the game

In a game where most dudes would be chest-bumping, jersey-ripping, and doing full-on WWE promos at home plate, Josh Naylor decided to go full funeral vibes after launching a walk-off grand slam. Yes, you read that right. A walk-off grand slam in extra innings… and this guy looked like someone just spoiled his favorite Netflix show.

The Diamondbacks beat the Mariners 8-4 in 11 innings Monday night in Arizona. Naylor stepped up with the bases juiced and one out in the bottom of the 11th. On a 1-2 count, he absolutely crushed one into right-center off Carlos Vargas and sealed the win with a no-doubter.

So how does a guy react after being the hero? If you’re Josh Naylor, apparently by death-staring your own teammates during the postgame interview.

While chatting with the Diamondbacks’ broadcast team after the game, teammate Geraldo Perdomo came up behind Naylor and gave him the classic Gatorade/water dump celebration. That’s when Naylor straight up mean-mugged the camera like someone just told him the walk-off didn’t count.

No smile. No laugh. No joy. Just pure salt.

And this isn’t the first time. Back in Cleveland, Naylor pulled the same move when a teammate celebrated a big hit with a water bath. It’s like the man hates hydration.

Brandon Marsh ripped a walk-off single in extras, and Citizens Bank Park turned into a damn mosh pit. The whole squad mobbed him, water flying, bubblegum popping, and Marsh looked like he just won the lottery.

That’s the energy we’re used to. That’s Philly baseball. You do something electric, you celebrate like it. Simple. Moments like that don’t come around often, in fact most of the time it’s misery. Therefore, as a message to all, including Josh Naylor; enjoy the moment every now and then.
