Nick Castellanos got robbed by ridiculous Alan Roden catch, then got revenge with a Grand Slam
Nothing like some Sunday afternoon Phillies, where it gets your full undivided attention. For me it was the perfect fathers day wind-down after a weekend of fun and a lot of sports. Which is where we get to what happened between Nick Castellanos and Alan Roden.
A 6-2 game in the bottom of the fifth, Casty on Father’s day, the script writes itself. It wasn’t a matter of if but when Casty was going to go yard yesterday.
Alan Roden Tries to Die for a Baseball
Roden came sprinting in from left, laid out head-first into the padded wall, and somehow made the catch. I’m talking full-speed faceplant into the fence. Dude smacked the padding so hard he left a literal eye black mark on it like he got punched by the wall itself.
He laid there for a bit and the Blue Jays’ trainers came jogging out, and it got quiet for a sec—but then he popped up and stayed in the game. Meanwhile, Ernie Clement runs over from the infield like a concerned parent and just starts pointing at the wall like, “Look bro, you autographed it.”

Then Castellanos Got His Revenge in the Most Beautiful Way Possible
Fast forward just one inning. Bases loaded. Game still in control but not quite out of reach. Castellanos steps back in and sends an 85-mph cement-mixer slider into orbit—an absolute nuke over the left field wall.
Grand. Slam.
He broke the game wide open and made sure that Alan Roden’s insane catch was the Blue Jay’s only highlight from this game where the Phillies absolutely whipped their asses.

Baseball Gods Got it Right This Time
It’s one of those moments where you just know—baseball has a funny way of making things right. Roden made a ridiculous catch, risked his body, and had his little moment. But Castellanos got the last laugh. That grand slam was revenge with interest.
Phils go on to win 11-4, and I shut down the TV with a grin on my face. Sports don’t get much better than that.
The other reason I had a massive grin on my face was because I knew I had the opportunity to write a Phillies blog here and make my boss Drew Smith very happy. Now I just need him to accept all the Instagram Reel collaborations on these sick reaction videos and we can keep growing the TLL social pages.
Since ya know, I’m the quarterback of them.
