Ace Bailey New York Mets First Pitch

Ace Bailey is putting on a masterclass in how to not get drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers

Just days before the NBA Draft, former Rutgers standout and projected top-three pick Ace Bailey decided to ghost the Philadelphia 76ers and cancel a scheduled visit with the team this week.

According to reports, Ace Bailey canceled a scheduled visit with the team that included a dinner with the front office and a private workout. To this date, Bailey hasn’t worked out in person for a single NBA team, making him the only domestic player in this draft class to do so.

The Mental Gymnastics for Ace Bailey are exhausting

As a frequent lurker on the Sixers subreddit, its astounding to me the mental gymnastics the Philly fan base will go to as they slowly convince themselves to take a comically immature 18-year old off-ball guard from perennial college basketball powerhouse; The State University of New Jersey.

As recently as this week 45% of respondents to a poll in R/Sixers wanted to select the aforementioned Ace Bailey, despite some pretty glaring red flags with his game and mental makeup.

I wonder if learning that Ace Bailey will be throwing out the first pitch for the New York Mets next week will finally change their minds?

One could only hope.

Look, I hate to come down too hard on the kid and in all reality, there’s a good chance that Ace Bailey is just surrounded by a bunch of money-hungry agents and close friends that are leading him down this dark path.

I’ve been saying for weeks that he was flirting with disaster and would likely fall out of the Top 5 of the NBA Draft if reports kept coming out that he’s asking for money for pre-draft interviews, demanding to have a starting role, and refusing to adapt his game to be an off-ball player as an 18-year old rookie.

Ace Bailey might fumble his way out of the top five if he’s not careful

The kid is acting like he’s the future of the NBA and he’s not even a top two pick in his draft class. Now, he’s throwing out the first pitch for the New York Mets? Keep Ace Bailey away from Philly and the 76ers.

Kon Kneuppel would NEVER.
