Jayden Daniels throws shade at Quinyon Mitchell during Fanatics Fest NYC

Here we go again. Jayden Daniels couldn’t help himself.

At this point, it’s almost like the guy is doing it on purpose. Over the weekend at Fanatics Fest in New York, Daniels was asked which cornerback he’s most excited to face this season. Seems like a layup, right? The reporter even mentioned Quinyon Mitchell — our first-round pick, the runner-up for Defensive Rookie of the Year, and one of the many bright spots on last year’s defense.

So what did Daniels say?

That’s it. No mention of Mitchell. Not even a polite nod. Just went straight for Denver’s All-Pro and kept it moving. And look, no one’s denying that Surtain is a baller — but don’t act like this wasn’t a subtle little jab at our guy. Daniels had the perfect opportunity to give credit to a young corner he’ll face twice this season. Instead, he sidestepped it and gave a shoutout to a guy he’ll see once. Maybe.

And don’t tell me this wasn’t calculated. Daniels knows what he’s doing.

Jayden Daniels Is Fueling the Rivalry, and We’re Ready

We get it. The Commanders finally have a quarterback, and they’re no longer the punching bag of the NFC East. Good for them. But Jayden Daniels clearly wants to be more than just Washington’s QB — he wants to be a thorn in our side. And he’s doing a damn good job of it — at least off the field.

Throwing shade at Quinyon Mitchell? That’s bold. Quinyon hasn’t even hit his second NFL training camp yet, and he’s already turning heads across the league. If Daniels thinks he’s going to roll into Philly this year and throw the ball all over the yard, he’s sadly mistaken.
