ESPN links the Phillies to Jarren Duran in MLB Trade Deadline rumors
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Phillies are among the teams keeping an eye on Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran ahead of the MLB trade deadline.
Jeff Passan gives it a 25% chance that Boston actually moves their 28-year-old left fielder, but if they do, the Phils could be in the mix.

Jarren Duran’s a left-handed bat with wheels, currently hitting .257 with 5 home runs, 38 RBI, and 15 stolen bases. He made the All-Star team last year and is under team control through 2028, which makes him more than just a rental, he’s a long-term piece.
If the Phillies are serious about adding outfield speed and defensive range, Duran checks a lot of boxes. He’d bring some much-needed athleticism to left field and could be a spark plug near the top or bottom of the lineup. The big question is whether the Red Sox would actually pull the trigger and what it would cost.
Should the Phillies go after him? If the price is right, absolutely. He’s not Juan Soto, but he’s affordable, controllable, and could be a strong fit for a team looking to stay atop the NL East.
