We used to be a proper country. I regret to report that an FDNY firefighter was suspended after giving ‘hot girls’ a joyride on a firetruck, spawning an investigation into what officials are calling a growing ‘frat house’ culture inside the department.

I know that’s not the news you wanted to hear, and obviously, the investigation, along with the officials conducting it might be the dumbest bunch in the Big Apple. It’s like they completely forgot that the FDNY deserves this type of morale when you know, they aren’t running into burning buildings and saving lives.

NY Post – The FDNY has disciplined a lieutenant on Ladder 18, which gave “some hot girls” a ride on the rig last week, breaking rules and risking public safety, The Post has learned.

The unidentified lieutenant, the officer responsible for everything that happens on a firetruck, was suspended without pay for five days and transferred, officials said.

“When I learn of behavior that is contrary to the rules and regulations of the Department, I act swiftly and decisively to address it,” Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker told The Post.

No other firefighters on the truck, including the driver, has been disciplined pending an internal FDNY investigation, officials said.

The Bravest landed in trouble after video captured two young women laughing, waving to onlookers, and snapping selfies while hanging out of the truck’s cab window.

No surprise here. New York is turning into an absolute shit hole right before our eyes and now one of their last bright spots, the FDNY, is being stripped of exactly what they are supposed to be doing when they’re not, you know, running into buildings on fire and saving human life. 

Do I find it ironic that all of this is happening while a Pro 9/11 mayor just earned the democratic party’s bid to takeover the city? Absolutely not. This is probably the first of many dominoes to fall.

God forbid there a few hot girls in a fire truck. 

Also, what’s wrong with “frat house” culture inside the department? Don’t these guys deserve to blow off some steam? I really don’t see the issue here.

What else do you want these guys to do while they are sitting around the firehouse waiting to risk their lives to save others? 

The FDNY has it hard enough already.

I think they deserve a free hall pass to do whatever they want in their spare time. 

Not to mention, I would probably light my own house on fire if I knew there was a firetruck en route filled with a bunch of badass firefighters and a load of hot girls. Back in my day, we used to call that a good ol’ ride along. 

Side Note: I’m just talking shit. There was a never “back in my day” but one thing is for sure, this is the FDNY. I was alive during September 11th, and while I hate all things New York in terms of sports, these guys can do no wrong. Latter 18 is A-ok in my book to carry on however they deem to be fit. 

Let the FDNY Cook: Hot Girls on Fire Trucks Is Just Good Morale

Listen, if the FDNY wants to let a bachelorette party full of smoke shows hop on the back of their big red truck for a 10-minute joyride through the Lower East Side, I say let ’em. That’s not a scandal. That’s America. That’s morale. That’s how you keep the boys locked in for the next four-alarm blaze.

We’ve reached a dangerous place as a society when firemen can’t even toss a couple hot girls on the rig for some harmless fun without it becoming “an investigation.”

What are we doing? These guys run into burning buildings. They save cats, babies, and people who think it’s okay to light a Yankee Candle with a blowtorch.

They deserve a couple perks, no?

Nobody’s saying firefighting is about chasing tail. These are elite-level humans doing elite-level work. But part of what makes the job attractive, aside from being heroes, is the occasional unintended fringe benefit.

Don’t hit me with “conduct unbecoming of an officer.” You know what’s unbecoming? A city with low morale and no respect for their fire department.

You know what’s becoming? A fire truck rolling down Madison Ave with a bunch of hot 25-year-olds, coming to save the day.  Let the FDNY give them give a quick ride to some local talent if it boosts morale and doesn’t interfere with the job.

This isn’t just about one truck, one squad, or one joyride. It’s about freedom. It’s about grit. It’s about knowing that no matter how soft the rest of the country gets, New York’s Bravest still know how to work hard—and enjoy the ride.
