Good Stuff: Kyle Schwarber’s Block Party raised nearly $400K for first responders
On June 11, Kyle Schwarber hosted his annual Schwarber’s Block Party in Philadelphia, and the results were massive: nearly $400,000 raised in a single night for first responders, military members, and their families.
That money goes directly to supporting the mission of Schwarber’s nonprofit, Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes.
He built Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes in 2017, years before he ever stepped foot in a Phillies uniform. His dad was a police chief. His mom was a dispatcher. Service runs in the family.
This isn’t a feel-good story for the press, it’s a lifelong commitment to the people who keep communities safe and don’t get the recognition they deserve. The foundation supports everything from mental health services, to financial aid, to special experiences for families of fallen officers and first responders.
We’re talking real impact.
He’s taken families to WrestleMania, hosted police and fire departments at the ballpark, and thrown his name behind causes like Team Foster, Families Behind the Badge, and the Philly Police and Fire Foundations — groups that do the work every day.
The Block Party Delivered
The event had everything: Phillies teammates like Bryson Stott and Brandon Marsh, Flyers players, former Cubs teammate Ryan Dempster hosting (yes, he does stand-up now), and both live and silent auctions featuring signed gear and VIP experiences. It was a legit party.
And they delivered in a big way. $400K in one night is a huge number, especially for a player-run event. That kind of fundraising changes lives. That’s therapy paid for, housing support covered, families honored, and local heroes remembered.
Kyle Schwarber Shows Up — Always
Here’s what sets Schwarber apart: he shows up. He doesn’t just cut a check. He’s at the meetings. He’s visiting precincts. He’s taking time to make sure families feel seen. And he’s doing all this while still producing on the field like one of the best power hitters in the league.
So far this season: 25 home runs. On pace for another 40+ homer year. Already has 308 career bombs, 46 leadoff homers, most postseason HRs ever by a lefty.
More importantly, Kyle Schwarber is also the guy who built a real foundation, raised millions over time, and made service the core of his identity — not a marketing campaign.
Give Kyle Schwarber His Flowers
Kyle Schwarber’s been nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award multiple times. It’s time he wins it. What he’s doing with Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes is exactly what that award is meant to recognize — impact, character, and consistency.
What Kyle Schwarber is building for first responders and military families might end up being his greatest legacy. Philly should be proud. Baseball should take notice and if MLB has any sense, they’ll hand him that Clemente trophy soon.
P.S. That SNH logo? Fire.

It’s shaped like a baseball field, with stars for police, fire, and military. His number 12 stitched into left field. Red, white, and blue all over. Clean, meaningful, and badass. Just like the guy behind it.
