WATCH: Caitlin Clark launches a dime after practice, might be ready to take over as the Colts’ new starting quarterback

Look, at this point, we’ve got to stop calling Caitlin Clark a “basketball player” and start calling her what she really is: An absolutely special athlete. Because what she just did after Fever practice? Yeah—she might’ve just leapfrogged Anthony Richardson on the Colts quarterback depth chart.

Time to Be Honest, Colts Fans…

Let’s be real—I’m willing to bet a good chunk of you reading this are Indiana sports fans. And even if you’re not, I think we can all agree on one thing: this whole experiment of hoping Anthony Richardson magically figures it out just doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere fast.

Then you watch what Caitlin Clark just did after practice, and you’re reminded what sports are really about.

Fresh off missing time with a groin injury, Caitlin Clark decided to casually walk out of Fever practice, pick up a football, and uncork a spiral on the run that would’ve had NFL scouts drooling. I’m not exaggerating here—it was a frozen rope.

If Shane Steichen’s got any sense, he’s making that call right now. I mean, just watch this:

I decided to take the time to research more of Caitlin Clark’s athletic background as I’m just getting back from another lovely beach day here in Sea Isle New Jersey.

Anyways, Caitlin Clark’s not new to this multi-sport life. She’s been dominating everything since she could walk basically.

  • Soccer? Made the All-Iowa team in high school.
  • Golf? Probably already better than you and me combined.
  • Softball, volleyball, tennis? Played all of them as well
  • Basketball? Oh, you know—just the best women’s player in the world at age 22.

Hell, her dad said she could’ve been on the U.S. Junior National Team for soccer if she stuck with it. Just let that sink in. Caitlin Clark had multiple pro-level career paths available to her and still chose basketball.

Caitlin Clark 30-Piece Inbound?

Clark has missed the Fever’s last five games nursing a groin injury, and earlier this season, she dealt with a quad strain. But from the looks of it, she can still air a ball out. Even though it’s a football in this case.

But, to be fair, she does throw a lot of wicked passes in games that are reminiscent of a quarterback.

She’s expected to return Wednesday night against the Golden State Valkyries, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she drops a 30-point triple-double just to remind everyone who runs this league.
