Sixers Tyrese Maxey

Sixers’ Tyrese Maxey is tired of fan negativity

Sixers fans haven’t had much to smile about lately. The 2024-25 season collapsed under a mountain of injuries, the offseason has been quieter than a Wells Fargo Center concession line during a blowout, and Joel Embiid is still recovering from surgery. Oh, and Paul George? Fresh off another procedure.

So yeah, the vibes online have been less than positive. And Tyrese Maxey has officially had enough of it.

Sixers Guard Tyrese Maxey Claps Back

On Friday, Maxey broke his offseason silence on Twitter with a message aimed squarely at the fan base:

“Yall talking yall mess on this app this summer! UNDERSTOOD🫡!”

Translation? He sees the noise. He hears the doubt. And he’s not backing down from the pressure. This wasn’t just some throwaway tweet — this was Maxey, the 76ers’ brightest star not named Embiid, letting everyone know he’s locked in and taking receipts.

This Is His Team Now

With Embiid recovering and Paul George rehabbing (again), Maxey enters the 2025-26 season as the guy. Last year he averaged 26.3 points and 6.1 assists in 52 games — numbers that put him in elite company. And let’s be real: if the Sixers are going anywhere this year, it’s on Maxey’s back.

But the patience is wearing thin. ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins recently warned that if the Sixers don’t figure out their culture and stability issues, Maxey could eventually want out. And with Rich Paul as his agent? Yeah, don’t test that theory.

Sixers Can’t Fumble This

Daryl Morey and the front office better wake up. Maxey is a franchise-level talent with All-NBA upside. He’s already a fan favorite, a locker room leader, and the future face of the team. If the Sixers want to avoid another superstar exit (we’ve been here before, remember?), they need to stop sleepwalking through the offseason and start building around him.

Give him a squad. Give him a system. Give him a real shot. Because Maxey’s making it clear, he’s ready to lead. The question is, will the Sixers finally let him?
