Freddie Freeman Exits Game Wrist Injury

WATCH: Freddie Freeman exits game after getting drilled on the wrist

The Dodgers’ bad stretch just got a lot worse and this one could sting for a while. Freddie Freeman exited Sunday’s game against the Brewers in the sixth inning after taking a pitch directly off his left wrist from José Quintana.

Freeman didn’t even hesitate. He walked straight off the field, bypassing first base entirely and heading down the tunnel. That’s never a good sign.

Freddie Freeman exits after getting drilled in the wrist

The team is calling it a left wrist contusion for now, but let’s be honest, nobody’s exhaling until the X-rays are in. That wasn’t a routine plunk on the elbow guard. It gave me flashbacks of Bryce Harper a few years ago after Blake Snell hit him.

It looked bad, and Freddie Freeman’s reaction was even worse. The guy doesn’t just pull himself out of games. Freeman’s been quietly doing his thing this season, hitting .294 with 10 bombs and 49 RBIs, and the Dodgers can’t afford to lose him, especially with how things are spiraling.

Sunday’s 6–5 loss to Milwaukee was their 10th loss in 12 games. That’s full-blown skid territory. Now, with their most consistent hitter potentially headed for a stint on the IL, things could unravel even faster.

If Freddie Freeman’s wrist is seriously injured, the Dodgers’ playoff hopes just took a major punch to the gut.
