After dominating at the The Open last week, Scottie Scheffler hopped on Pardon My Take and said that he would trade one of his Major Championships for a Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl.

Obviously, that’s hilarious. The Dallas Cowboys haven’t sniffed a Super Bowl ring in over three decades. Hell, Scottie Scheffler was born five months after the Cowboys last appeared in the NFC Championship Game. Like the most of us, Scheffler literally hasn’t lived in a world where the Cowboys were relevant.

Now that I think about it, maybe that’s why Scottie Scheffler was able to become the best golfer on planet Earth. When you literally have zero stake in meaningful football and grow up in the Dallas area, you might as well golf every Sunday. Interesting.

Seriously though, the Cowboys have been dog shit since the Clinton administration. The world’s No. 1 golfer saying he’d give up a Green Jacket just to see Jerry Jones hold a Lombardi?

Baby steps, Scottie. C’mon brother.

I’d say “dream bigger,” but honestly, dream smaller.

Start with a win in the divisional round of the playoffs first, Scottie. That would cost him the 2022 World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play trophy.

No need to sacrifice a major and even then, that would still be the biggest accomplishment in recent memory for the Cowboys.

Deep down Scottie Scheffler, while being the man and the best golfer on earth, just another delusional Cowboys fan who thinks this is the year.
