BREAKING: Phillies fleece the Twins again, land Harrison Bader for two prospects no one ever heard of

Harrison Bader – Dave Dombrowski isn’t messing around. Just hours after finalizing a deal for flamethrower Jhoan Duran, the Phillies went out and snagged outfielder Harrison Bader from the Minnesota Twins and barely gave up anything to get the deal done.

Phillies Land Harrison Bader from the Minnesota Twins

  • Phillies Get: Harrison Bader
  • Phillies Trade: Outfielder Hendry Mendez
  • Phillies Trade: Right-handed pitcher Geremy Villoria

Look, no disrespect, but that’s two guys you weren’t going to see in Philadelphia any time soon. This is a pure “win-now” move from the Phillies, and a damn good one at that.

So Who’s Harrison Bader Right Now?

Bader, 31, is having one of the best seasons of his career:

  • .258 AVG / .778 OPS
  • 12 HR / 38 RBI
  • 118 wRC+ (career-high)
  • 9 stolen bases
  • 2.0 WAR
  • Still plays elite defense in the outfield

In 298 plate appearances this year, Harrison Bader already matched his second-highest home run total ever. His bat has finally caught up to the glove and it’s coming at the perfect time.

Point being, this isn’t some washed veteran on a farewell tour. Bader has been productive on both sides of the ball all season.

Harrison Bader Is Hot Right Now

Last 7 Games:

  • .412 AVG / .500 OBP / .529 SLG
  • 7 hits in 17 at-bats
  • 3 walks, 2 steals

What’s the Fit?

Simple. Harrison Bader gives the Phillies an elite defensive outfielder who can hit, run, and give you flexibility. Brandon Marsh should be in center full time with Rojas riding the bench until further notice. As for Max Kepler, I would honestly DFA him immediately.

Harrison Bader can play left or center.

  • 70 games in left field
  • 33 in center
  • 5 in right

Wherever you need him, he’s got it. That’s a playoff weapon, not just a fourth outfielder.

What Did the Phillies Give Up?

Literally nothing that hurts.

  • Hendry Mendez is 21 years old and hitting .237 in High-A. He might be something eventually, but he wasn’t sniffing the majors this year or next.
  • Geremy Villoria is a 22-year-old righty with decent strikeout numbers, but also a 5.31 ERA across three levels this year.

That’s it. That’s the price for a red-hot outfielder with pop.

Dave Dombrowski deserves a statue. With Jhoan Duran closing, and now Harrison Bader shoring up the outfield, the Phillies just added firepower on both sides of the ball without touching their top-tier prospects. October isn’t just possible — it’s expected and now this team is starting to look like a problem.

Phillies bullpen is set for a complete overhaul and all things considered, it should be absolute filth come October
