Brutal: Terry Mclaurin’s last memory on the Commanders is the most fitting thing ever

After the bombshell report saying that Washington Commanders star wideout Terry McLaurin officially requested a trade, I decided to march across enemy lines and rub some salt in the wound by reminding everyone what happened in the NFC Championship Game last year.

Terry McLaurin’s last memory as a member of the Washington Commanders could very well be getting thrown in jail by the Quinyon Mitchell last January and honestly, I couldn’t be happier about it.

Yes, it was the same NFC Championship game where the Birds absolutely embarrassed the Commanders 55-23 en route to a Chiefs dynasty-ending blowout win in Super Bowl LIX.

WATCH: Terry McLaurin’s last memory on the Commanders:

Quinyon Mitchell’s performance against Washington in the NFC Championship Game was nothing short of spectacular.

Lining up against Terry McLaurin, one of the most dangerous receivers in the league that the Washington Commanders refuse to acknowledge, Quinyon Mitchell was a one-man wrecking crew in coverage. He faced McLaurin on 36 of his 48 routes (75%), with half of those matchups coming in press coverage.

McLaurin managed just one catch for 7 yards on four targets, and Mitchell added a fourth-quarter interception to ice the game.

This was nothing new. If you recall what happened during the regular season, then you probably figured that Quinyon Mitchell was going to dominate McLaurin yet again.

Sure, Jayden Daniels is a special young talent but, can we all just pump the brakes a little bit? Let’s see how he does in his second season now that NFL defenses adjust to him. More importantly, let’s see how he may have to handle life without Terry McLaurin.

Karma is certainly a bitch, ain’t it Commanders fans?

Only time will tell if the trade actually goes down. Either way, this is the proper punishment for a fanbase that simply didn’t keep their mouth shut all offseason. Even after the Birds embarrassed them in the NFC Championship Game and went on to win the Super Bowl.
