WATCH: Another sex toy thrown at a WNBA game, this time nearly hitting Sophie Cunningham

Sophie Cunningham called it. Over the past few days, there have been a bunch of dildo related incidents at WNBA games.

Fans are bringing these sex toys into games and tossing them onto the court. No one’s quite sure who this mystery dildo thrower is, but they’ve clearly started a trend.

Let’s just call it what it is. The neon-green dildo saga is, by far, the most entertaining part of the WNBA season and if we are all being honest with each other, it’s not even close.

The latest incident came Tuesday night in Los Angeles, during the Indiana Fever vs. Sparks game at Crypto.com Arena.

As Kelsey Plum was shooting free throws late in the second quarter, a fan launched what’s become the league’s unofficial mascot, a bright green dildo onto the floor.

It bounced near Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, appeared to graze her foot, and triggered an animated, mildly amusing reaction from her.

Plum did what any good teammate would do and soccer-kicked the sex toy into the baseline like it was no big deal.

Sophie Cunningham had a few laughs after the whistle, likely because she threw a few jokes out on social media asking fans to stop throwing dildos onto the court because they might hurt a player.

Sophie Cunningham sends strong message amid Dildo Epidemic at WNBA games

This is now the third time in a little over a week that a neon green sex toy has made its way onto a WNBA court.

It started in Atlanta during a game between the Dream and Valkyries. The next time was in Chicago during the Valkyries-Sky game. Now L.A. That’s three cities in nine days. We’ve got a full-blown league tour on our hands.

Sophie Cunningham has already begged fans to knock it off and sure, that’s understandable. Getting pegged in the foot by a rogue dong mid-game probably wasn’t in the game plan.

From a viewer perspective, it’s electric. It’s unhinged, it’s unpredictable, and it’s easily the most viral storyline the WNBA has had all season.

Yes, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are pulling record ratings. Sophie Cunningham is becoming a star before our own eyes and yes, there’s more talent in the league than ever before. But let’s be honest, no one can stop talking about the airborne phallus that keeps hijacking game action like a bad episode of Jackass.

Now that the toys are apparently hitting players, you’d think the WNBA might crack down and they have tried to, but part of you knows they love the publicity. This isn’t a disruption anymore.

It’s a recurring segment and will have me tuning in to see when the next strike will happen. This is the golden era of the WNBA. Hoops and a nationwide tour of green sex toys getting tossed onto the floor.

Frankly, it’s the most relevant the league has felt in years.
