Cringe: Drake supports Johnny Manziel in his beef with Gillie on Social Media

The Gillie Da Kid–Johnny Manziel social media beef took a weird turn when Drake—rapper, pop artist, or whatever he considers himself these days—decided to chime in.

Johnny Manziel hit the timeline Tuesday with a photo that instantly sent the internet into a tailspin — none other than Drake rocking a custom long-sleeve tee repping the college football legend himself.

Embroidered on the back? “We’ll go to hell bout Johnny Manziel.”

Before I rip into Manziel, let’s start with Drake. Apparently he’s a 49ers fan, after doing some investigative research on my own time. What a sorry ass team to be a fan of. Drake and that soft-ass fanbase is lucky they are not on the Eagles schedule this year, because we would absolutely smash them.

And look, I still have no idea why this even became a thing, but here we are. For some reason, Johnny Manziel decided to take offense to a video of Philadelphia’s own Gillie Da Kid — the fearless protector of the Eagles’ Realm — simply doing what he always does: defending Jalen Hurts like the loyal soldier he is.

The clip? Just Gillie, lit up at his birthday party, talking in front of cameras about none other than Cam Newton. Cam, for whatever reason, still can’t keep Jalen Hurts’ name out of his mouth.

Gillie wasn’t having it.

“Cam ain’t never had one of these….and I ain’t going back & forth with you…”

Honestly? Facts. Pure, undisputed facts.

Enter Johnny Manziel… for Absolutely No Reason

And then out of nowhere — like an overthrown deep ball on 3rd and long — Johnny Football logs onto X and absolutely unloads on Gillie.

He quote-tweets the video and calls Gillie the:

“Biggest fucking loser on the planet.”

He then goes on to question what Gillie’s ever done on a football field — bold move coming from the guy who flamed out of the NFL faster than Nathan Peterman — and tops it off by saying he’d slap Gillie next time he sees him.

What are we doing here, Johnny?

It physically pains me to write this, but I can’t defend you here, Johnny. I’ve watched your college highlights more times than I can count. You gave us electric Saturdays back in the day. And I even acquired you in the College Football 24 video game in the Ultimate Team game mode.

But now you’re threatening to slap Gillie Da Kid… because he clowned Cam Newton… who disrespected Jalen Hurts?

Make it make sense.

You can’t side with the dark forces working overtime to discredit Jalen Hurts and then expect Eagles fans to back you. That’s not how this works.

At the end of the day, this ain’t about clout. It’s about loyalty. Gillie stood up for our guy. Manziel jumped in to defend someone who can’t stop throwing shade. And Drake took his side.

So unless Johnny Manziel is planning a some sort of comeback tour, he might want to sit this one out. And as for Drake, guy is a total cornball. Which is a shame, because I do like his music for the most part. But he should sit this one out too.
