Bailey Falter’s timing might need some work. The former Phillies lefty announced that he and his wife, Ky, are expecting their first child. The couple went all-in on a Pirates-themed pregnancy photoshoot at PNC Park, complete with team gear.

Before they could even post the pics, Pittsburgh shipped Bailey Falter off to the Kansas City Royals at the trade deadline. Instead of scrapping the whole thing, the Falters just leaned into the irony and Ky posted the photos anyway.

Good Move

No awkward re-shoots, no Royals-colored gender reveal, just full send on the black and gold. Bailey Falter’s MLB journey has been a whirlwind the past couple years. The Phillies dealt him to Pittsburgh in 2023 for Rodolfo Castro, he found some success there, posting 3.73 ERA in 22 outings this season.

Bailey Falter’s Kansas City Royals debut was rough allowing seven earned runs in 4 1/3 innings but he’s getting another shot to settle in when he faces the Nationals tonight. No matter how his career shakes out from here, his future kid’s going to own the coolest Pirates jacket in existence… even if dad’s ERA tells a different story.
