Cowboys make headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again as CeeDee Lamb gets ran over by an NFL official
Let’s be honest, one of the main objectives of NFL preseason is to ensure your starters, and most importantly star players are healthy and ready to roll come week 1. Unless you’re the Dallas Cowboys of course, and literally no one in that organization can get out of their own way.
This time, CeeDee Lamb was the one making headlines for all the wrong reasons. During the Cowboys vs. Rams preseason game, Lamb stepped out onto the field to celebrate a pass by Joe Milton and ended up getting ran over by a sideline judge in the process.

The best part about this play? While the pass was incomplete, there was defensive pass interference and it would have given the Cowboys 51 yards. However, that was negated due to Cee Dee Lamb’s unsportsmanlike conduct.
Referee Alex Moore explained that it’s an automatic foul when a player or coach makes contact with an official while on the white sideline stripe.
“It’s more of a rare situation,” Moore said. “Normally we don’t have anybody standing that deep into the restricted area, or that type of forceful contact. So, it is a rare occurrence, but it does happen from time to time.”
Adding to a Night of Mistakes
This wasn’t just an isolated blunder — it was one of 11 penalties the Cowboys racked up in the game. Eleven. That’s not only the kind of stuff that infuriates a head coach, but it’s one that just can’t happen with a first year coach.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer didn’t sugarcoat it after the game.
“Everybody has to be more disciplined in the future,” Schottenheimer said.
It’s safe to say the Dallas Cowboys are nowhere near ready to step foot in Lincoln Financial Field for opening night. The Philadelphia Eagles are going to absolutely curb stomp these boys.
