Farm Report: Phillies midseason prospect rankings has Gage Wood in the Top 5
MLB Pipeline dropped their midseason re-rank on Monday, and the Phillies’ farm system has a new face near the top.
No surprise with who’s in first place. Andrew Painter still headlines the list. The Phillies keep telling us he’s a generational prospect and there’s still a very good chance that he might be just that.
However, he hasn’t found a lick of consistency in Lehigh Valley this year and while everyone was hoping for an August call to The Show, it’s more and more likely that we won’t see Painter until the 2026 season.
After Painter, you have shortstop Aidan Miller and outfielder Justin Crawford. We’ve talked plenty about both of those kids so I won’t repeat myself again.
Right behind that trio is first-round pick Gage Wood, the right-hander out of Arkansas who’s already flashing big-league velocity. Aroon Escobar rounds out the Top 5 after jumping eight spots from his preseason ranking thanks to a strong year at the plate.
