Justin Edwards switching to No. 11 for sophomore season with the Sixers
Justin Edwards’ rookie year in Philly wasn’t just about proving he belonged, it was about locking in a long-term spot. The undrafted forward out of Kentucky, and a Philly native, turned his two-way deal into a standard contract by averaging 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and shooting 36.3% from deep across 44 games.
That production earned him a three-year extension this offseason, keeping him in the City of Brotherly Love through at least 2028.
Now, Justin Edwards is making another change. After wearing No. 19 as a rookie, he’ll switch to No. 11 next season, a number last worn by Jeff Dowtin Jr., who’s now playing overseas.

Why the Switch?
No word yet on the story behind the number change, but Edwards isn’t exactly the first young Sixer to freshen things up heading into year two. Whether it’s superstition, personal meaning, or just wanting a cleaner look, No. 11 will be his going forward.
Looking Ahead
Numbers aside, the goal remains the same. The Sixers bounce back from last year’s disaster. Philly limped to a 24-58 record in 2024-25 thanks to a rash of injuries that gutted the roster. With (hopefully) a healthy squad and Edwards stepping into a bigger role, the team is banking on a serious turnaround.
