Brewers fan called 911 over a free hamburger promotion, confirming they are the softest fanbase in baseball
The Milwaukee Brewers are on a “cute little run” right now. Twelve straight wins, playing their best baseball of the year… in mid-August.
That’s adorable. Really.
Here in Philadelphia, we could honestly give two shits about the NL Central, which obviously includes the Brewers. The Phillies still run the National League, and this little hot streak out in America’s Dairyland isn’t going to mean a thing once Red October rolls around.
So please, enjoy the regular season parade, Milwaukee.
Yesterday, the Brewers beat Paul Skenes and the Pirates for win number 12 in a row, which activated a George Webb Restaurant promotion where fans get a free hamburger if the team wins a dozen straight.
Sounds fun. Harmless enough.
Here’s where the Brew Crew magic ends and the comedy begins. Brewers fans don’t get the burger immediately. You’ve got to wait for the restaurant to announce the official date which apparently, was too much for one fan to handle.
Brewers fan called 911 because he was unable to get a free hamburger.
A Brewers fan called 911. Over a hamburger. A free hamburger he hadn’t even earned yet. Are we really supposed to be scared of Milwaukee down the stretch? Give me a break. Anyone that willingly gets the cops involved tells you everything you need to know about the entire fanbase.
That’s not grit. That’s not toughness. That’s soft. That’s the Brew Crew fanbase in one phone call. If you’re dialing the cops over a delayed cheeseburger handout, I don’t want to hear about how “hardcore” Milwaukee is.
Brewers fans are literally on the phone with 911 dispatchers because the fry cook didn’t hand over their patty in time. Disgusting.
George Webb says they’re expecting to give away over 100,000 free burgers when the date is set. Good for them. Have your little burger holiday, Wisconsin. Enjoy your moment.
Come October, when the lights are bright and the games matter, that’s when the real show starts. Buckle up, Brew Crew. Red October is coming.
