Nick Sirianni teases Eagles offensive innovations — The Jalen Hurts ragebait needs to stop

Here we go again. The Eagles offseason lull hits, camp opens, and every talking head with a Wi-Fi connection starts throwing around “Jalen Hurts is struggling” headlines like it’s gospel. Clickbait. Ragebait. Whatever you want to call it, it’s all the same garbage. And you know exactly where it’s coming from primarily.

Let’s cut the crap — this man just won the Super Bowl and was named Super Bowl MVP. He’s the leader of the best roster in football. And you’re telling me a couple of missed throws in August matter? Nah. Miss me with that.

Nick Sirianni just confirmed it — the Eagles are putting in another new wrinkle offensively this year. Different looks. Different terminology. Different timing. You know what that means? There’s going to be growing pains. And you know what training camp is for? Working through those growing pains.

Nick Sirianni on the 2025 Eagles offense

Hurts has been through this movie before. Since high school, he’s practically had a new offense every season. His two years with Shane Steichen were the only time he got real continuity, and look what happened — MVP-level ball, Super Bowl berth, total dominance.

So yeah, if the timing’s off in August, that’s not a crisis. That’s called practice.

Why This Whole Conversation is Pointless

This offense is loaded. Say it out loud: Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert. Oh, and they’ve got the best offensive line in the NFL protecting Hurts and opening lanes for Barkley.

If you think a couple of camp hiccups means Hurts forgot how to play quarterback, you either:

  1. Don’t understand football, or
  2. Are just here to farm clicks from insecure Eagles fans.

Either way, you’re not worth taking seriously.

What the conversation should be, is what kind of wrinkles are being added to the offense. That’s the fun and real conversation that should be had. Is Saquon Barkley going to be used more in the passing game? Will there be more motion? How is Jahan Dotson going to be more involved.

You know, like real football talk. Not engagement farming. Which is especially embarrassing because it’s coming from the “premiere” Philly sports talk radio station, WIP.

And while we’re at it…

It’s mainly stemming from Joe Giglio who posed a question: “Should we be concerned about Jalen Hurts”? (Shocker). That’s his whole brand. Spill out hot takes and overreactions. He’s not the only one.

From time to time I’ll listen to their primetime drive show in the afternoon with Spike Eskin, Jack Fritz, and Ike Reese. Ike is the only one with any football knowledge who’s great at what he does. Meanwhile Jack who’s entirely a baseball guy, only hates on Jalen Hurts. That’s his daily football analysis. And the same can be said about Spike.

I’m not saying either knows nothing about football, but they certainly give that vibe off. Which is unfortunate. Because, there is way better football conversation that could be had on the radio.
