artificial wombs chinese babies

Are we really supposed to believe that China will have robots with artificial wombs capable of carrying babies by next year?

Apparently, by next year, China could roll out robots with artificial wombs that can carry a baby for an entire pregnancy. We’re talking a humanoid bot with a hose in its stomach pumping nutrients into a fetus until it “gives birth.”

China will reportedly have robots with artificial wombs capable of carrying babies

NY Post – Reportedly, China is working on designing a bot with an artificial womb — which will receive nutrients through a hose in its abdomen — that will soon be able to carry a fetus for about 10 months before giving birth, according to Chosun Biz.

The “pregnancy robot” was conceptualized by Dr. Zhang Qifeng, founder of Kaiwa Technology in Guangzhou, China. If all goes according to plan, the prototype will make its debut next year.

For those struggling to conceive, hiring a humanoid to carry their baby will cost 100,000 yuan, or about $14,000 — a price significantly less than a human surrogate, which can cost someone in the USanywhere from $100,000 to $200,000.

“The artificial womb technology is already in a mature stage, and now it needs to be implanted in the robot’s abdomen so that a real person and the robot can interact to achieve pregnancy, allowing the fetus to grow inside,” Qifeng told Chosun Biz.

Many questions are still unanswered at this time, including how the egg and sperm will be fertilized and inserted into the womb and how the bot will give birth.

“Many questions are still unanswered at this time…”

Yeah, I’m calling bullshit. Who knows how true this story even is, I’ve got my doubts. China has a history of announcing wild tech projects that never actually pan out.

The most successful thing that China has ever done was create COVID-19 and convince the world that we all had to hibernate for 2-3 years.

China Sucks. FYI.

Okay fine. Not gonna lie, that was pretty impressive, but creating a humanoid robot that will give birth to actual humans… by next year? C’mon man…lol. Here’s where China really stands with their cute little humanoid robots:

Boring: China held matches with four teams of ‘humanoid robots’ playing soccer and it was absolutely embarrassing

They are literally the dumbest things ever. Just like all the massive cities that sit completely empty across China. Everything they do looks like a middle school science fair. The entire country is a knock off, discount rack of American innovation.

They basically copy what we do in America and slap a communist red flag on it.

So yeah, I’m obviously skeptical.

Still, the idea is floating out there. $14,000 for a robot with an artificial womb versus the six-figure costs of human surrogacy. On paper, it sounds futuristic, maybe even “practical” but if you’re asking me? I’ll pass.

Sure, I’m a guy and pregnancy doesn’t impact me personally

Dudes can’t get pregnant. I know even that is a hard concept for many to grasp these days, but I’ll be damned if my kid is born inside a Chinese robot womb that was probably programmed to hate America, western civilization, and everything we actually value as citizens of the free world.

I don’t trust it. At all.

That’s the bigger point here: China is always talking big.

They hype up some breakthrough, make headlines, and then quietly fade when people realize it doesn’t work. Again, go watch that dumb robot soccer game from last month on the link above. Absolute garbage.

If these “artificial wombs” are anything like that, the first kid’s coming out with loose screws rattling in its diaper. Not to mention, is nothing sacred anymore? Artificial wombs over actual pregnancies? The Chinese have no souls.

At the end of the day, this feels like just another move to look like they’re ahead of everyone else technologically.

They’ll try the whole thing with the artificial wombs, milk the headlines, create dumb AI videos showing the concepts and maybe even shove a prototype in front of a camera, but I’m not buying it until I see a robot in Guangzhou actually spit out a functioning baby.

Until then, give me a break.
