Disgusting Behavior: A jazz band decided a plane stuck on the tarmac was the perfect place to show off
Passengers on an Alaska Airlines flight from St. Louis to Seattle were already living through hell, being stuck on the tarmac, delayed, and diverted to Boise with mechanical issues piling up. Just when things couldn’t possibly get worse, a jazz band decided this was the perfect time to break out the horns.
Dave Koz and his bandmates, on their way to Seattle for a couple of shows, turned the aisle into a stage and launched into an impromptu jam session.
Short of a violent crime, this is the worst thing that can happen on a plane.
The audacity… imagine this is you
You’re trapped in your middle seat. You’ve been delayed for hours. You’re already questioning why you live in St. Louis or Seattle, two of America’s least desirable locations, and all you want is peace, quiet, and maybe a little sleep before you finally escape.
Instead, some guy in row 13 pulls a saxophone out of the overhead bin. At first, you pray he’s just giving it a quick polish. Not even close. Now this self-centered asshole is blasting notes like it’s a Tuesday night in a New Orleans dive bar.
Congratulations. You are now in hell.
Even worse, a handful of smooth brains start cheering like this is entertainment. They clap. They encourage. Which means you know it’s not stopping anytime soon. The stewardess shrugs, she has no idea when the plane is taking off.
Absolutely unacceptable
Anyone who doesn’t immediately denounce this behavior should not be allowed in polite society. The same people applauding this nonsense would lose their minds if a baby cried for 30 seconds. Yet somehow a full brass section is fine? Give me a fucking break.
Here’s the fix. No more instruments in carry-on luggage. If you are flying with a saxophone, that thing’s going under the plane. No exceptions.
Thanks to Dave Koz and his merry band of airspace terrorists, flying with jazz instruments should now be illegal.
