WATCH: Missing boy heroically rescued after walking on monorail tracks at Hersheypark

Only in Hershey, Pennsylvania, do you expect your biggest danger to be a sugar rush and end up with a kid casually strolling along Monorail tracks like he’s in a live-action Frogger game.

On Saturday afternoon, a young boy got separated from his mom inside Hersheypark and somehow slipped into a secured area where the Monorail, which wasn’t in operation, sits locked down.

Next thing you know, he’s spotted wandering the elevated monorail tracks inside Hersheypark looking lost and confused.

Guests below immediately noticed and started waving him toward a nearby building. That’s when a man on the roof did what any Pennsylvania legend would do. He jumped onto the tracks himself, scooped up the boy, and got him to safety.

The crowd erupted in cheers. If this doesn’t end with him getting free lifetime chocolate bars and entry to the park then what are we even doing?

Park employees rushed in soon after, officially reuniting the boy with his family just before 5:30 p.m. Thankfully, he was unharmed. That was one hell of a rescue, too. Jumping up on the concession rooftop, then a leap onto the tracks. Dude is a legend.

Sure, we can question the security and how this even happened in the first place, but at the end of the day, the boy is safe and that’s all that really matters.

On that note, Hersheypark said the Monorail ride was already closed and secured with chains and barricades, and they praised both the guests and staff for acting quickly.

Hersheypark released a statement stressing their commitment to safety, but the bigger takeaway here is that this kid just survived a terrifying misadventure that looked like something straight out of a viral TikTok challenge.

The boy’s age and identity haven’t been disclosed, but the internet has already turned the rescue into one of the wildest Hersheypark stories ever told.
