Bryce Harper delivered the perfect response to Ken Rosenthal on his performance this season
Our sweet, sweet, boy Jack Fritz posted this clip of Ken Rosenthal’s appearance on Foul Territory talking about Bryce Harper, and in just 44 seconds, there was a lot to take away from it.
Updated: Totally my fault. My brain isn’t working on a Friday night and mistakenly wrote Jayson Stark instead of Ken Rosenthal all over this post. Credit to me for burning the Friday Night Oil but I need to be better.
Jayson Stark on Bryce Harper:
Me too, Jack Fritz. Me too.
Obviously, Bryce Harper’s response to the question was elite.
I do like Ken Rosenthal but I have a hard time that anyone who knows a damn thing about the Phillies clubhouse, would say something as dumb as him “always being the center of attention.”
That leads me to believe that it’s either Stark creating that narrative, giving Harp a meatball to nail the response, or his sources stink. I’ll go with the former over the later, unfortunately.
Bryce Harper has been perfectly fine this season
He literally just crushed a homer tonight in South Philly to left-center. Everyone knows that when Harper is hitting the baseball into the stands on that side of the ballpark, there’s going to be a torrid hot streak shortly after.
Not to mention, Harp is still hitting .265 with 121 hits, 25 homers, 70 RBIs and 67 runs scored in 119 games this season. It’s not like he’s been “bad” in any sense of the word, we just haven’t seen the highlight reels of him clutching up this season… yet.
It’s coming though. I promise you that.
